What is D.E.A.R.? 

• Drop Everything And Read....this year we will be implementing silent sustained reading for 10 minutes, 3 times a week (T/W/Th). Students are responsible to have their book with them everyday as they will be expected to read after taking an assessment. The students are expected to read 300-400 pages each semester. Some students may finish more than one book. At the end of each semester, students will be tasked with a book project that involves analysis, critical thinking skills, and enhancement of academic vocabulary. If a student has finished more than one book, they will have their choice as to which book they'd like to use for their book project.
• Parents are responsible for approving their students' book by signing the DEAR form that has been sent home. Please email me with any questions at: dina_argumosa@chino.k12.ca.us
