Townsend students learn about those who served our country

  • Townsend Junior High students got to learn more about military veterans recently at the Chino Hills school’s annual Veterans Interview Day.

Veterans from World War II to the recent wars in the Middle East attended the event, telling their personal stories and sharing military mementos.

The students interviewed the veterans for an essay contest sponsored by the Chino Hills Kiwanis Club. Bill Taylor and Kurt Allan of the Kiwanis Club helped organize the interviews.

As she has done for many years, Townsend teacher Jodie Noblett coordinated the event for the school.  Townsend’s Parent Teacher Staff Association provided lunch for the special day.
