Gift cards sought for Chino Valley Unified School District students, families in need

  • Chino Valley Unified School District’s HOPE Resource Centers and CARE Homeless Education Program are seeking gift card donations to help students and families during the holidays.

Donations of cards to popular retailers, supermarkets, and fast foods or food retailers are sought.

Donations may be dropped off at the HOPE Family Resource Center and CARE Program at the Chino Valley Adult School, 12970 Third Street, rooms H and J, Chino.

Each year, the HOPE (Helping Our People Everyday) Family Resource Centers assist a number of students and families who have been affected by trauma. Some students have witnessed violence while others face several emotional distress and hardship.

In the 2016-2017 school year, CVUSD identified more than 1,700 homeless students including teen “couch hoppers,” students living in their cars, and youth living in unstable housing. The CARE Program supports these students to ensure they are successful in school.

For information about either program or providing donations, call (909) 628-1201, ext. 8960.
