Two Wickman Elementary School students will represent CVUSD in county history contest

  • Good luck to Wickman Elementary School fifth-graders Mihir Mandapaka and Elle Scranton who will compete March 10 in the San Bernardino County History Day competition at Summit High School in Fontana! They are the only Chino Valley Unified School District students to participate in the event.

More than 300 students in the county are expected at the competition, which has a theme of “Conflict and Compromise in History.” The students’ work will be judged by historians, educators, and other professionals in related fields. The Elementary Division has only one category of competition, posters.

The awards ceremony for the competition is scheduled to begin 3:00 p.m. March 10 at Summit High School, 15551 Summit Ave., Fontana.

Champions of the respective divisions qualify for the California History Day contest in May in the northern California city of Rocklin.
