In Japanese 1, students will learn how to read and write basic characters called Hiragana and Katakana.
By the end of year 1, they will be able to read and write using these characters fluently and efficiently.
In addition to these basic characters, students will be able have a conversation in approximately 30 to 40 different situations.
Students will learn various vocabulary associated with each of these situations as well grammar used in each situation so that they may apply this to other situations on their own, leading to proficiency of the Japanese language.
