NEWS UPDATE ON NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Dear CVUSD Community, 

Yesterday evening, we learned that the spouse of one of our employees at Chaparral Elementary School came in contact with individuals at their place of employment who had come in contact with another individual who tested positive for COVID-19. 

Immediately upon learning this news, our District Health Services team contacted the San Bernardino Department of Public Health for guidance as part of our school district protocol. According to public health officials, because our employee was so far removed from the situation, drastic measures are not necessary. Out of an abundance of caution, we have asked our employee to self isolate for 14 days.

Last night, CVUSD maintenance staff conducted a deep cleaning and disinfecting of the entire school. 

Instruction at Chaparral Elementary School will continue as normal at the school site. 

We are committed to maintaining the health and safety of our students and staff, which is a top priority for our school district. We will keep you updated with any developments.
