• UPDATE TO THE CVUSD COMMUNITY REGARDING SCHOOL CLOSURES DUE TO
    NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
    MARCH 13, 2020

    superintendent

    Dear CVUSD Community:

In an effort to slow the community spread of COVID-19, I have directed the closure of our district’s 35 schools,  beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 to Friday, April 3, 2020. Continuance of education will begin with learning modules for students on Monday, March 30, 2020. CVUSD will monitor the COVID-19 situation and notify students and families if school closures will continue beyond April 3, 2020.

The health and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority and goes hand in hand with our core mission to educate students. While San Bernardino Public Health does not report any positive cases of COVID-19, our school district is adjacent to three counties who all have reported community spread cases of COVID-19. This decision is consistent with everything our national, state and local public health experts have recommended about slowing the community spread of this deadly pandemic.

During CVUSD school closures, all school activities, sports, and facilities use by all user groups will be suspended.

CVUSD has developed a comprehensive response plan for closure that includes seamless continuation of educational instruction; steps for cleaning, disinfecting and restoration of schools and facilities if needed; and preservation of critical school district services. CVUSD students and families will receive instructions on how to obtain lesson plans to continue education at home.
