• UPDATE TO THE CVUSD COMMUNITY REGARDING
    SCHOOL CLOSURES DUE TO
    NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
    AUGUST 27, 2020

    Dear CVUSD Parents and Guardians:

CVUSD will continue with the current Distance Learning model on August 31, 2020. The state of California has mandated that CVUSD must continue with a Distance Learning model until San Bernardino County meets the state requirements that will allow our schools to open for in-person blended learning. At this time, the CVUSD Blended Learning model will NOT begin on August 31, 2020, as CVUSD had hoped. Rest assured that when the time comes to reopen schools to in-person learning, you will receive as much notice as possible.

According to state mandates, schools are not allowed to resume with in-person (Blended) learning until the county in which they are located is removed from the California Watch List for 14 consecutive days. San Bernardino County's data that determines its placement on the California Watch List is trending downwards, which is positive news for schools seeking to reopen to in-person learning. However, while our District is prepared to make the shift to an in-person Blended Learning Program, we cannot foresee when that time will be. We will keep you updated with developments.

Thank you for your continued partnership in our students’ education.

    Sincerely,

    Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
    Superintendent
