• Dear CVUSD Parents, Guardians, and Staff:

    Earlier last week, state officials confirmed that although California’s temporary mask mandate for indoor public spaces will expire after February 15, face covering guidelines for K-12 schools remain in place. The temporary universal masking directive, initiated in December by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as an added layer of mitigation to combat the prevalence of the Omicron variant, is separate from the state's guidance for K-12 schools that requires students, staff, and visitors to wear face coverings while indoors when students are present.

    While California has not yet identified a date for easing face covering requirements for K-12 schools, state officials have shared they will reassess current guidelines on February 28 as pandemic conditions begin to shift.

    District administrators will continue to collaborate with public health and  local and state officials to adapt CVUSD’s pandemic protocols, as necessary.
