    Dear CVUSD Community,

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Chino Valley Unified School District has upheld its commitment to keeping students in the classroom for in-person instruction by complying with federal, state, and local health directives that govern school operations. The District will remain consistent with its practices and continue to adhere to guidelines that govern California K-12 schools.

Therefore, beginning tomorrow, March 12, 2022, CVUSD will align its masking practices with the revised protocols adopted by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on February 28, 2022. According to these newly enacted directives, universal masking in schools will move from being a state requirement to a strong recommendation.

As the District shifts to personal mask choice, I understand that the transition may cause anxiety for some of our students, staff, and families. I’d like to encourage families to determine what is right for their household while emphasizing respect for and acceptance of everyone’s option to wear or not wear a face covering.

The shift in guidelines marks a substantial milestone in our community’s fight against COVID-19 as we move from a pandemic response to an endemic approach. I want to thank CVUSD staff and families for their constant commitment to supporting our students during this volatile experience. I truly appreciate your patience and am grateful for your partnership.

    Sincerely,

    Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
    Superintendent
