• UPDATE TO THE CVUSD COMMUNITY REGARDING
    SCHOOL CLOSURES DUE TO
    NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
    JULY 13, 2020

    Dear CVUSD Parents and Guardians,

Late last week, I learned that four students of Boys Republic High School tested positive for COVID-19.  The Boys Republic administration conducted contact tracing in accordance with published CDC guidelines and have contacted all individuals with whom the students have come in prolonged close contact, as specified in the CDC guidelines for contact tracing. These CDC guidelines are consistent with the guidelines that CVUSD uses for contact tracing. These CDC guidelines are attached to this email for your reference.

The four Boys Republic students, along with any other students and Boy’s Republic staff who may have had prolonged close contact, are currently being quarantined in their cottages or at home as specified by the CDC guidelines. While Boys Republic students live on the Boys Republic campus, CVUSD teachers have been providing Distance Learning in their separate classrooms without any Boys Republic students physically present for in-person instruction.  As of today, Monday, all Boys Republic teachers will continue to provide Distance Learning education from an off-campus location.

The health and wellbeing of students and staff during this global pandemic is one of CVUSD’s highest priorities. It is only through a concerted, joint effort among the school district, families and community members that we can thoroughly address all COVID-19 issues. Thank you for your partnership.

    Sincerely,
    Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
    Superintendent
