• UPDATE TO THE CVUSD COMMUNITY REGARDING
FACE COVERINGS FOR CHINO VALLEY USD
      JUNE 15, 2021

      Dear CVUSD Parents and Guardians:

First, I would like to begin by saying thank you for your patience exercised during the past 15 months. COVID-19 has tested many aspects of our lives and left us longing for a return to our pre-pandemic routine. It is exciting to see that we are beginning to move towards that reality.

Second, I would like to explain what June 15 means for our district. Last month, Governor Newsom announced that beginning June 15, 2021, the state will move beyond the Blueprint for a Safer Economy and return to usual operations. This transition allows for fully vaccinated people to resume everyday activities without wearing a face covering, except in limited settings required by federal, state, or local mandates. Published on its website, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) clarifies that regardless of vaccination status, face coverings that cover the mouth and nose are still required indoors for all K-12 schools. Keeping in line with this course, Chino Valley Unified School District (District) teachers, students, and visitors will continue to wear face coverings on District property.

In preparation for the upcoming Board of Education meeting scheduled for June 17, 2021, at 6 p.m., the District will maintain the status quo and continue operating under the current Cal/OSHA guidelines. As such, all attendees are required to wear a face covering while on District property before, during, and after the meeting. Additional guidance for the July Board meeting and our District will be shared as further direction is provided by the CDPH, County of San Bernardino Department of Public Health (SBCDPH), Cal/OSHA, and the California Department of Education (CDE).

Again, your continued patience and cooperation with governing mandates is greatly appreciated. The health and safety of our staff, students, and community is a priority for the District, and we will continue to provide a safe learning environment where our scholars can thrive. Updates will be provided to the community as they progress utilizing District platforms including the:

      Sincerely,

      Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
