• UPDATE TO THE CVUSD COMMUNITY REGARDING
    SCHOOL CLOSURES DUE TO
    NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
    JUNE 24, 2020

    Dear CVUSD Community:

As we prepare for the 2020/2021 school year, I want to update you on a few things regarding athletics and activities. I know many of our students and families have questions on when you can get back to some semblance of normalcy with regards to sports and activities. A few months ago, I shared our District rule with you that all CVUSD Athletics and Activities are suspended until June 30, 2020. San Bernardino County is currently in Stage 3 of the State of CA Reopening Plan, and the School District continues to follow guidelines provided by Public Health officials.

Currently, our High School Principals, Athletic Directors and District staff are drafting Reopening Guidelines for Athletics and Activities. The Reopening Guidelines for Athletics and Activities will be finalized and distributed next week and will include, among other things, protocols for the resumption of activities and athletic conditioning in small groups starting Monday, July 6, 2020. The Guidelines will include protocols on how students will be able to participate in modified athletics and activities while adhering to public health and safety requirements. It will also include details on how our schools and the District will implement cleaning and disinfecting protocols to ensure the safest environment possible.

Thank you for your patience as we take careful and measured steps to reopening. Please know that the District considers the needs of our students and staff alongside best practices in health and safety during this pandemic.

    Sincerely,
    Norm Enfield, Ed.D.

    Superintendent
